Industrial Process

Reserves
The IMOSA reserves have a wind origin, with a predominance of Quaternary, Plio - Plistocene and Miocene formations and are inserted in the domain of Monte Real's Diapir. The main characteristics of these reserves are the homogeneity and quality of the silica with its rounded grain. Of note is the number of reserves that amount to 5.5 million tons.

Dry Process
IMOSA has a dryer with a production capacity of 20 t / h and eight storage silos with a total capacity of 1600 tons. This capability ensures the availability of different products for our clients.

Wet Process
The wet process includes all sand washing, friction and first rating operations. It then removes impurities, minerals that accompany feldspar sand.
The second sand classification may cover the wide range of particle sizes required by various markets for silica sand.
All products, when humidity is limited, are stored in large stocks. This storage enables global quality control.
The water recovery and clay drying obtained in the initial wash conclude this part of the process.

Shipping
IMOSA products can be sold in bulk, in a tank and bagged in big bags (soon also in 20, 25 or 30 kg bags), wet or dry. The versatility of the facilities allows us to adapt to the clients needs, providing the product in the required conditions. IMOSA's technical team is always available for its clients, to solve any questions or problems that may arise.

Process

The process, to which the sand extracted from the mine front is submitted, comprises all the operations necessary to obtain the products with quality, homogeneity and physicochemical characteristics that satisfy the clients needs.

The steps that constitute the entire process are:
  • Pulp extraction and transport
  • Wet classification process
  • Drying and classification
  • Shipping
